Chief Commercial Officer

Our client is an independent privately owned business working in the service industry, where the focus is on sales, products, product development, marketing and not least logistics and manpower. There are many small things that must work together so that both customers and employees achieve a high level of satisfaction for the product delivered.

Over the last years, the company experienced rapid growth and in order to sustain that growth we’re looking to bring onboard a Chief Commercial Officer who will be overseeing and coordinating the sales, product, product development and marketing teams. We search for a profile that works closely together with the different units to ensure we reach the annual sales targets.

Side by side with the senior management we also have a growth team, a team on a mission to support the rapid global scaling of the business.

In the role of Chief Commercial Officer, you will report to the CEO and co-founder and you will work closely together with your own team today including 6 specialists. The keywords are coordination, motivation and execution.

About the role

We don’t believe in forcing someone into a specific job function so consider the following responsibilities as a starting point:

  • You own our global lead generation engine and are accountable for our global annual sales target;
  • Together with the marketing team, you define our content strategy and roll-out effective global campaigns to support business development;
  • You oversee the outbound lead generation team and ensure a consistent flow of SQLs to the regional business development teams;
  • You continuously monitor our deal pipeline and coordinate with regional business development to ensure they consistently meet their growth objectives;
  • You define our business development and account management organization and practice;
  • You embed account management practices throughout the organisation and refine the tools, processes and roles necessary to build towards multi-year relationships with strategic accounts;
  • You continuously monitor our business development capabilities across the organization and proactively prevent any shortcomings;
  • You play an important role in ensuring the successful recruitment and retention of key people who will set up and grow our strategic client accounts;
  • You are a member of the global leadership team and you represent our brand and the perception of the customer;
  • You are responsible for the successful implementation of our rebranding in 2022 and you continuously position the Board of Innovation as the company it wants to be in 3 to 5 years;
  • You take a leading role in different strategic growth initiatives (e.g. opening up 3 offices a year) as a member of the global leadership team;
  • As a member of the global leadership team, you have a strategic relationship with at least 1 strategic account as a regional or global account lead.

Requirements

  • You have inside knowledge of the innovation consulting space;
  • You have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a marketing or business development role in a professional services context;
  • You have a proven track record in managing a diverse and international team;
  • You can think strategically while also being hands-on enough to make change happen quickly;
    You are not subjected to any kind of competition or customer clause that could slow you down in a work with us.
