The position is based in Luxembourg and it is a requirement that you have a visa and work permit to be offered the position. It is not a position with an expatriate package. As the company work with technical solutions for defence and military, you also need security clearance, which is also a requirement to hold the position. 

Group Chief Human Resources Officer

Our client is a company on its way up, backed solidly by investors. We are within the Teck world and it is an absolute requirement that you have a solid knowledge of growing a business as well as escalating to multiple countries. Particular focus is on Asia, as well as South America.

You will have an HR team of 21 people (FTE), with responsibility for the head office located in Luxembourg, plus responsibility for working with 11 management teams distributed globally and with plans to escalate with 12 countries, more, in other words, you will have to work collectively with 23 countries. Each office has around 170-200 staff (FTE) and typically a staff of 4 HR staff (FTE), a manager and 1 or 2 to develop and strengthen the HR concepts (the last FTE are temporary).

About the team & culture

We are looking for a  passionate HR leader to spearhead the People & HR Team and helm the transformation journey in a fast-paced environment.
This is a very demanding position, with a minimum of 20 years experience in Human Resources Management, either at a regional level for a minimum of 7 years or at a global level for a minimum of 5 years.
A master’s degree in psychology, preferably a PhD, with very high grades is expected. We need to say it’s not a weekly 40 hours job!

About the role

This key role will be responsible for the full spectrum of HR & people related topics and functions and lead the team to build an irresistible organization through employee experience improvement. The references point is the CEO and the owner.

Requirements

Degree as a psychologist, or in Human Resources Management or related field.
At least 20 years of HR experience, including at least 5-7 years of managerial capacity.
Strong regional experience across South East Asia.
Experience in driving organisational changes and enabling businesses to pivot and transform successfully will be an advantage.
Flexible work style to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines and manage last-minute changes, effective in a fast-paced continuous improvement role and culture.
Have a strong affinity for critical thinking, with a continuous improvement mindset, hands-on execution, problem-solving, and result orientation.
Up to date knowledge of HR policies, processes, employment landscape, trends, practices, and employment act/other local regulatory across the region.

Key Responsibilities:
Formulate agile ways of working through its people agenda and design a career/skill competency mapping with a flexible working program that shapes the workforce and workplace of the future;
Lead and coach the team in HR operations and drive changes; manage the full spectrum of HR including Employee Life Cycle, Compensation & Benefit, Learning & Development. (Payroll is placed in finance).
Work closely with the senior management team to forecast and coordinate the recruiting need and to establish resourceful TA strategies to attract the best talents;
Strategize, recruit and maintain a strong pipeline of talents and succession for key positions; develop and retain a high performing team through culture shaping and strong employee experience;
Redesign the performance review exercise to establish a performance evaluation baseline that aligns with job requirements, competency and the organization’s core values;
Analyse and identify the key training needs to drive productivity and performance of and draw up the training roadmap;
Drive operational excellence and be involved in organizational transformation initiatives to enhance HR capabilities and support business regional growth;
Build continuous improvement of HR processes and procedures to ensure effective, fair and equitable management of employees throughout the organisation;
Provide advice, information and support to management and employees on HR policies and procedures in line with best practice and ensure compliance with local employment laws and regulations.

A salary package can be mentioned as follows: If the position is based in Luxembourg, the monthly salary will be negotiated at around USD 340.000/HK$ 2.647.000, plus a sign-on bonus, a full expatriate packet, paid flat/home in Luxembourg and Hong Kong. Your salary and terms of employment will be based out of Hong Kong.
